A recent squad made by Luciano Begot reached top-cut (17th overall) at the recent Joinville Regionals. The core of the team is relatively standard with Pelipper & Archlaudon with an Amoongus & Kingambit backbone. Garchomp was a nice choice here, as it can Earthquake next to a Pelipper or even a Tera Grass Archaludon to activate a defense boost from Stamina for a strong body press. From here, Poliwrath makes sense as a strong fighting type that outspeeds the entire format with Swift Swim. With Liquidation & Ice Punch as well, Poliwrath can hit a majority of the format for big super effective damage or just big damage overall thanks to Choice Band and the power of rain. There are other water/fighting types that have had success like Tauros & Quaquaval, and the Poliwrath is the latest rendition to this.
