Xiaomi Scooter Pro - Full Review [Xiaomify]

The latest upgrade of Xiaomi's famous electric scooter. Finally, I got the chance to have a look at this newer model and see how much has improved on this one... Let's go! No matter where you live you have probably seen some of these scooters and, if so, you probably have seen the Xiaomi scooters as well. As these are very popular scooters it's no big surprise they made this upgraded version. The scooter pro has some small upgrades. First and foremost, the distance you can drive on a single charge went up from 30 KM to 45 KM -which is a very big improvement right off the bat. Another, more visible upgrade, is the upgrade on the display on the steering handle. Next to showing the battery levels, this display now shows the current driving speed, Bluetooth connectivity, the light-status, and the actual speed-mode. As there are several speed-modes you can select using the on/off button on the handle. This button allows you to turn the scooter on and off by long-pressing it, it allows you to turn on the lights by short pressing and it can switch between the three driving modes by double pressing it. These driving modes limit the max speed of the scooter: "ECO" limits the speed to 15 km/h, "D" limits the speed to 20 km/h and "S" limits the speed to the max speed of 25 km/h. The motor has also upgraded. This will accelerate a bit faster and allow you to drive up to slightly higher slopes. It's not a major upgrade but it's a small improvement for sure. The scooter is really quite easy in use. To take off you will have to power it on, give it a slight push so you are in motion, and you can use the acceleration to get going. As the acceleration knob won't accelerate when you're not in motion as a kind of safety precaution. On the left side of the steering handle, you will find a hand-brake. I personally would have loved to see those on both the left and right side, but it's not advised to drive with one hand at all, so this kinda prevents you from doing so. The scooter also connects to your phone or tablet over Bluetooth, and you got to add it as a new device in the Xiaomi Mi Home APP for that. From the APP you can do pretty much the same as with the other models: You can monitor the speed, check battery levels and lock the scooter. The locking is the same as the other models as well. This gives some sort of friction on the wheels when you push it, it gives a beeping sound, and it prevents the scooter from being powered on. You can, however, simply pick the scooter up and it won't give any alarm, beeping, or.. anything, really. So I would highly advise you to get a physical lock for this scooter so you can attach it to something when parking it. As the APP functionality like speed and battery levels also show on the display of the scooter itself, the main functionality of this APP is mostly useful for locking it over Bluetooth and firmware updates. Generally speaking, the pro model has some small upgrades, but in broad strokes, it's the same scooter as the M365 with a bigger battery, a slightly better motor, and an improved screen.
