Flying the Cessan 310-J for the first time I'm working on an add on to my current pilot's license, which requires that I have 10 hours of flying in a complex #airplane. Since I have no official experience (logbook endorsement by a qualified flight instructor) and Waizman's only complex in the fleet is the 1965 #Cessna #C310J, unfortunately (for my wallet) and fortunately (because WOW) I have to fly this beautiful beast for 10 hrs (cumulatively). The #C310J boasts two 260 hp engines (made available by Continental's 6 cylinders, fuel injected IO-470-U engine) that reminds you of how much available power there is each time full power is applied. Initially, in 1965, the model was rated at 238 mph @ sea level (who flies there except pelicans and seagulls?) and a 1270 mi range on 130 gallons of fuel with fumes in the tank at destination (not legal). The airplane can be fueled up to 173 gallons if auxiliary and wing locker tanks are used. Based on the upper parts of this write up, I don't think that I have to describe how much I'm looking forward to the next 9 hours of flying this beautiful beast.
