As Max Rivers, a former champion in kickboxing, kills the gangster boss Marugo in self-defense, he is found guilty of murder and sentenced to life in prison. Upon arrival, the prison director, Collantes, informs him that he organizes fights among inmates and that he is now his new fighter. However, when Max refuses to step into the ring for Collantes, the director has him tortured until he agrees to fight. Linda Conroy, a young lawyer, tries to prove Max's innocence, but Collantes thwarts her efforts. Subsequently, she advises Max to escape.
