Fixing Election Coverage: A Really Good Problem Jay Rosen teaches journalism at New York University, where he has been on the faculty since 1986. From 1999 to 2004 he was chair of the department. He is the author of PressThink, a blog about journalism's ordeals in the age of the Web, which he launched in 2003 (http://pressthink.org). In 1999, Yale University Press published his book, What Are Journalists For, which was about the rise of the civic journalism movement. In 2008, he was the co-publisher, with Arianna Huffington, of OffTheBus.Net, which brought citizen journalism to campaign coverage. Rosen has a Ph.D in media studies from NYU. He writes and speaks frequently about new media and the predicament of the press in a time of rapid transformation. On Twitter he is @jayrosen_nyu In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.
