Klyde Warren Park | an Urban green scape in Downtown Dallas Texas with interactive music fountain

March 12, 2023, today’s plan is to go to Klyde Warren Park Downtown Dallas, evening around 5.15 we started from our apartment Plano with Deepak and family. After driving 30 mins reached here. Prem and Basil also joined us. Klyde Warren Park is a 5.2-acre public park in Downtown Dallas, Texas opened in 2012. It is named for Klyde Warren, the young son of billionaire Kelcy Warren who donated $10 million to the development of this park. Unlike other public parks within the city, Klyde Warren Park has operating hours from 6am to 11pm. One of the coolest parks in the entire state of Texas lies on top of a highway that divides Uptown Dallas from Downtown Dallas. This 5.2-acre park creates an urban green space over the Woodall Rodgers Freeway. It connects the Dallas Arts District to other areas and serves as a central public gathering space for Dallas residents and visitors to enjoy. Kids really loved and enjoyed in the special Children's Park that features interactive fountains, playgrounds, storytelling tree and more. A modern Mexican restaurant Mi Cocina in the park that's perfect for an afternoon or an evening of enjoying the relaxed atmosphere of the park with family and friends. The park is also home to over one dozen food trucks that serve up Greek specialties, Cuban cuisine burgers, gourmet ice cream and more. You can always plan for or bring your own picnic to enjoy on one of three different open lawn areas. The Nancy Best Fountain is an interactive water feature that is free and open to the public. the Fountain is an interactive play area for families and a relaxing respite in the heart of Dallas. It features a 5,000-square-foot splash pad. Each night, the Fountain comes alive for 30 minutes with dancing water and a choreographed light and music show. PERFORMANCES AFTER SUNSET ARE ILLUMINATED. Guests are encouraged to play in the water—even during the evening performances—making it one of the most unique fountains in the world. The Nancy Best Fountain is powered by recirculated water, which goes through a continuous filtration and sanitizing process. Fluidity Design Consultants, the firm behind the Park’s other water features, created the Nancy Best Fountain. The design was inspired by the beloved green space, with three 15-foot stainless-steel “trees,” 14 “rosebud” bubblers, and 106 small nozzles that create giant “leaves” when they are working in unison. In addition to Fluidity, Bjerke Management Solutions, McCarthy Building Companies, and Jacobs comprised the leadership team for this project. The stunning trees were fabricated locally by Big D Metalworks. In addition to the Fountain, guests are invited to enjoy the large green space, free games and the Park’s bistro tables and chairs—perfect for indulging in La Parada cocktails or a food truck supper. Restrooms are also available. Looking for a little friendly competition? The Grove offers a 25-foot wide path for ping pong, petanque and foosball. Designed by landscape architecture firm The Office of James Burnett, the park includes a mix of active and passive spaces like children's parks and reading spaces, fountains, game areas, and dog parks. A 6,000-square-foot (560 m2) restaurant and performance stage, designed by Thomas Phifer and Partners, is in the center of the park The park is located on the edge of the Arts District, between Downtown Dallas and Uptown. The urban park stretches for three city blocks between Pearl and St. Paul Streets, and covers the below-grade Woodall Rodgers Freeway. The park connects with the M-line Streetcar. Adjacent structures include the Dallas Museum of Art, Nasher Sculpture Center, AT&T Performing Arts Center, Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center, Parkside Condominiums, Ritz-Carlton Hotel and Residences, and several commercial offices. Museum Tower, a 42-story residential tower, is also located next to the park.
