This Zenith carb is off my 1956 Ferguson TO 35. It was continually dumping fuel ouf of the throat. Naturally I thought it was the float needle worn out or sticking. So, I replaced the float needle and seat. No dice, still leaking. Pulled it off again to inspect my float level, after trying several different settings it was still dumping fuel. The body of float chamber was warped directly around where the venturi goes in. I used a straight edge to check it. I didn't use a feeler gauge to determine how much, just that I could physically see a space in the center around the venturi hole. Broke out my handy hand mill(file) to see how much machining(filing) it was gonna take. Once I had it to an acceptable flat surface. I followed up with a stone. The other problem I had besides a fire hazard was the governor linkage was in the wrong position, so basically trying to push the throttle open instead of trying to push it closed. A little more on this, it was a well used tractor. Whoever had it before had added an extra spring to the governor linkage that was tied around the manifold. Naturally the throttle/governor linkage was not anywhere near being correct. Currently raining cats and dogs, again. So maybe tomorrow I can get the carb back on and everything adjusted as it should be. Then I should be able to finish the service on this thing. On a plus side, the loader works. Hoses are awfully scary looking though and the bucket will have to be welded and reinforced at the left mount, as it is tore completely off and kind of hanging by the pin.
