Dialing in the 3D printer settings for nylon string trimmer line. I ended up using the following settings in Cura: 1.65mm filament diameter 75% filament flow 250*C extruder temperature 4mm retraction amount 100mm/s retraction speed retraction combining enabled A Cura v1.4 profile is available below: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B89_... For later versions of Cura, you'll need to use the entries from this file, such as temperatures, feed rates, etc. to create a new material profile. For the build plate, I initially used PVA glue on boro-silicate glass at 60*C and now washable glue stick on unheated BuildTak which works very well. I used the Maxpower 0.065" nylon trimmer line: https://smile.amazon.com/Maxpower-333... It has almost doubled in price since I purchased it. The filament is apparently made by Desert Extrusion: http://www.desertextrusion.com/ out of dyed virgin Nylon 6 resin with no fillers or fibers added. I find it is great for making bushings that need to be tough, slightly flexible and fairly low friction.
