Lincoln Park Youth Arts Collective Spring 2024 Cohort & Art Show Opening

Lincoln Park Coast Cultural District's Youth Arts Collective (YAC) is an arts meets tech education program for youth aged 9-17 – Generation Alpha – that will provide them with knowledge and employable skills needed to be successful in the 21st Century. In 2024, we expanded the program into two levels: Level I for ages 9-12 years old and Level II for ages 13-17 years olds who have some arts education or OST arts education exposure. Our students learned Illustration, Painting, Digital Content & Animation, Introduction to Special Effects, Graphics Design in Canva, Intro to Digital Photography & Darkroom Developing, Intro to Creating a Coloring Book, Intro to Printing Merchandise, Intro to using laptops and iPads. The Spring 2024 cohort was led by facilitators Kween Moore (ages 9-12 years old) and Lyle Omolayo (ages 13-17 years old). Field trips and guest instructors included Emefa Woananu (Pop Up Print Shop), Stafford Woods (Obscura Darkroom), Viviana Salgado (Studio Creative Group), LeRon Lee (Filmmaker), Have You Met Newark?
