Indonesian airline, Susi Air, offers novice pilots who have as little as 250 hours of flying time an opportunity to rack up enough flying hours to land them a safer higher paying commercial airline job back home. The pilots have to fly in the enormously testing outer regions of Indonesia, where the weather is constantly unpredictable, the runways are cut into the side of mountains and the remote airstrips are separated by miles of dense jungle. So are the risks worth it? In this episode, Captain Matt Dearden travels to a remote village to see if the runway is fit for purpose and Captain Russell Whitbread must fly over an active volcano before taking a trip to see the havoc it caused on the ground.
