Halfmens or Elephants trunk as the Pachypodium Namaquanum is called does things a little different to other succulents. Where other succulents try to minimize solar exposure the Halfmens does it the other way round, instead of growing in summer it grows in winter and then it turns its crown of leaves towards the winter sun to maximize solar exposure. Halfmens directly translated to english means Half Human, but the plant is generally called "Elephants trunk if not called Halfmens.
