Oak Mountain High School Band - The 2017 Halftime Show

The Oak Mountain High School "Spirit of Cahaba" Marching Band continues its legacy of excellence with their 2017 Halftime Show "The Battles We Face". The show featured selections from "The Gladiator", "West Side Story", "The Battle Hymn of the Republic", and the finale to Stravinsky's "The Firebird". The Show earned Superior ratings in all captions at the Southern Hospitality Marching Festival in Hartselle, AL on October 7, 2017 as well at Best in Class Band, Percussion and Guard with the Guard earning the Dexter Greenhaw Memorial Color Guard Award for best overall color guard and the Band earning the Challenge Cup for Class 5A. At the Jacksonville State University Contest of Champions on October 21, 2017 (featured in this video) the band earned All Superior ratings: Drum Major, Majorette, Dance Team, Guard, Percussion, and Band. Additionally against eight other bands in their classification the band earned 2nd place Drum Majors, 2nd place Majorettes, 2nd place Dance Team, 2nd place Percussion, and 3rd place Band.
