HELLO!!! tis I, PLOOOTO. Welcome to the 7th song of the season, 45 more to go :) This one is about the need to be relevant, especially in a music/entertainment career. In the music industry, songs have what they call a "Shelf Life". It's basically how long a song lasts on the shelf - how long it's listened to until people are like "OK NEXT". This, along with MANY others, is why a lot of artists in my industry become insecure, and bail out to a more normal career. It's sad we measure ourselves to this impossible standard. I know this is random but Brendan Fraser said something like "there will come a time in everyone's career where the phone will stop ringing" - this quote is true on so many levels. There will always be something new and shiny that comes out to replace you, but you can't let that stop you from doing what you love. What's awesome is, today we have music streaming & accessible distribution like Distrokid/Cdbaby/tunecore - this is in some way democratizing music as a whole.
