©2006-2018 Şċåŗäķũş™ Looks like I'm the 1st on youTube to 'Gut' a Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol S-61 Mk1). Had a dead key on my Native Instrument S-61 Mk1, I knew it wasn't a software issue, because the corresponding light in the light guide wouldn't light either, so I was hoping it was just a 'Kontakt', Pun Intended, lol... So my S-61 Mk1 is 4 months past the 1 year warranty, with a dead key, figured i'd 'Gut That Bad Puppy'..! Well it wasn't so bad, I watched a video from (Markusfuller, link at the bottom) fixing a different synth with the same problem, and the contacts were the same, so it was a pretty straight forward fix. A few things to watch for; Flip it over, take every screw on the bottom out, carefully lift the bottom up in back, then slide it forward off the keys. There's a circuit board that just snaps off the the key contact's circuit board, several more screws, then the contact strip can be lifted off, giving access to the rubber contact pads, which pop right of, to reveal chared contacts. Clean with pencil eraser, then clean with isopropal alchohol, reassemble. Nᴏᴛᴇ: There are TWO (2) different size screws when reassembling bottom of unit, (besides the flat head ones that go in the bossed holes which hold the Key assembly in place), the larger ones go in the deepwell holes, and of course the Le Wolla... Markusfuller's Channel Link; / @markusfuller 'Trusted Guide' found an easier way to push the little rubber pins back in: "Oh, and I found a good way to get them back fast, I pushed a small torx screwdriver through, worked like a charm, just have to be careful not to penetrate the rubber" Thanks 'Trusted Guide' / @trustedguide285
