One of its most famous treasures is the Holy Chalice, believed by many to be the true Holy Grail. The cathedral also houses beautiful 15th-century paintings and Renaissance frescoes. The Holy Chalice, also known as the Holy Grail, is one of the most treasured artifacts housed in Valencia Cathedral. This chalice is believed by many to be the cup used by Jesus during the Last Supper12. The chalice itself is made from agate and dates back to the 1st century BCE. It was given to the cathedral by King Alfonso the Magnanimous in 14363. The cup is mounted on a gold base adorned with precious stones, which were added in the Middle Ages3.
