Christine's warm memories of their time together lead her to search to understand, ultimately convincing her of what she must do to surmount the obstacles and that it's up to her to breach the rift between them (think of the unmasking as a way to do that- sort of hidden plot bit there, yeah, can't help myself. ;-)) ...
