On the 21st of January 2021, a Senior Constable from Adaminaby Police station pulled over a Grey Ram pickup. The driver of the vehicle was a former player for the Parramatta Eels during the 80s, Paul Mares. The officer is met with a foul-mouthed Mares refusing direction and driving off at one point during the video. Mares accuses the officer of having an affair with his partner, and the video becomes more bizarre. The full 17-minute uncut version is available on Patreon. The footage was played to a Cooma local Court where Mares pled guilty to not providing a sample to an oral test for drugs, driving a vehicle with menace, not obeying a police direction and not keeping to the left of a road.
