KOS - PART 2! || KOS BEACHES - Paradise Beach, Agios Stefanos Ruins | Peacocks at Plaka Forest | Zia

#kosbeaches #plakaforest #zia Welcome to part 2 of our Kos Vlogs!! We hire a car and visit the Kos Beaches - Paradise Beach & the Agios Stefanos ruins. We then head to Plaka Forest on our way back to the Akti Beach Club and later take the scary mountain road to Zia to watch the famous Zia sunset! Paradise Beach is also known as Bubble beach. The volcano chambers run underneath this area of Kos causing gases to rise up through the water causing the famous bubbles throughout. Unfortunately we were in the total opposite area from where you can spot them. We read afterwards the bubbles can be found past the main beach club, towards the rocky area, over near the inflatables. There should be a buoy floating to mark where the bubbles will be. The beach of Agios Stefanos is not too far from Paradise Beach so we made our way there next. Down what looks to be a private driveway to the ikos Hotel you may think you have taken a wrong turn, but keep going; the small car park is at the bottom. Make sure you get there early as the car park gets very full! You're able to swim to the little island of Kastri and climb the rocks to the St Nicolas Chapel. You might even see a wedding if you're lucky! The ruins are wonderful, you're able to walk around these and see the glimpses of the original mosaic floor. The two churches date back to 469 & 554 AC! On our way back to the Akti Beach Club for lunch, we make a stop to see the many peacocks at Plaka Forest. The boys loved it here, especially as they saw lots of cats and were able to feed the peacocks by hand. The lovely lady who owns the charity Kitty's of Kefalos was very friendly and informative. She taught the boys how to safely feed the peacocks without getting their fingers nibbled! She also told us about the many cats she rescues and looks after. This was a beautiful evening and had the most stunning view from the restaurant. Again get there early as the main carpark gets super busy! The mountain road from Kardamena to Zia was quite scary but please don't miss out on this trip, just take it steady, its well worth it! 😊 This day was one to remember for us, if you're thinking of staying at the Akti Beach Club please visit the car hire desk in the lobby. They are very friendly and the car we hired was around £100 - £150 for 3 days. The island has lots to offer and is an easy way to visit places without waiting for coaches.
