THE DROP OFF - Tulamben - Bali - Indonesia

A short video of our dive at The Drop Off in Tulamben with our dive master from Dive Concepts. This was my 2nd dive after getting my Open Water certification.You can tell we are all novices in this group with the way our arms are flailing around 😄😎🤿 I used a Telesin Dive Rig with Dome Port with a couple of underwater video lights attached for this video. It's a great rig and I found that it helped me to keep my video looking nice an stable in the water. One thing I did find with the doem port is that it's great for wide shots when underwater, however, everything looks further away, so when you try to fill the frame with marine line they look distorted. Plus when shooting towards the sun you get reflection back in the dome. I need to find a way of getting some matt black tape so it doesnt reflect so badly. Still for an absolute novice scuba diver I am very pleased with the final results. We stayed at the Matahari Tulamben Resort which is located on the east coast of Bali, right below the magnificent Mount Agung active volcano. The resort is also located right across he road from Dive Concepts, and if you prefer, the resort also offers its own diving tours. I can recommend staying here for easy travel to the dive sites at Tulamben and Amed. The rooms aren't fantastic, but they are adequate. It has a great pool, and not a bad restaurant with an open deck sitting area at the top of the building which gives great views of Tualmben beach and Mt Agung behind you. I wouldn't say The Drop Off gave us a huge amount of marine life or corals to view, but the actual drop off is amazing, and you get a mixture of hot and cold water which gives this real shimmer (Like heat haze) in the water, it's a very unique experience, and I'm glad I got to see it.
