Today I discuss what broke on the Viper and show you how to replace the catalytic converters. I learn that not only did the catalytic converters self-destruct, but there may be more wrong with the car now that needs additional work. The third generation Viper has four catalytic converters, two on each side of the engine. When the leading catalytic converter fails catastrophically, it can become trapped in the secondary converter and block all exhaust flow from that half of the engine. Replacing the catalytic converters is a simple process, however, there may be more problems caused by this relatively simple issue.
