Catfish Feeding Frenzy (part 1)

Video footage of a catfish feeding frenzy. Catfish feed on dry dog food thrown atop the water inside my (empty) boat slip, located along a bayou that connects to the Tchefuncte River in Covington, Louisiana. The catfish were lured into the bayou from the main river using a combination of Magic Bait brand Catfish Chum, as well as with canned dog food (see    • Chumming for Catfish Using Dog Food   for reference). The cans of dog food are perforated with a pocket knife, attached to a wire, then dropped into the water, with the wire attached to a bulkhead or tree branch to keep the cans from touching bottom, as well as for later removal. In this video, the results of two weeks of chumming using canned dog food are demonstrated by throwing a few cups of dry dog food on top of the water. Once the scent from the dry dog food is detected by the fish, they come up to the surface to feed in droves in a literal catfish feeding frenzy. Their only competition for the dog food are the turtles, but there is plenty to go around. Apologies for the poor quality. I'm still learning and promise that future videos will display superior quality as I learn from these rookie mistakes.
