I show the steps on how to move a light switch. This is in the Chicago area. USA. I used a handy box that has a tab that offsets the box ½" to allow for ½" drywall. Just check the depth with a piece of drywall and screw it to a stud. I show how to move a light switch to a new location. We are in the Chicago area and need to use metal boxes and conduit. Use AC cable to connect to conduit. The aluminum bonding wire and cable is your grounding path. The steps I show can be used with nonmetallic cable also. You would just use the connectors designed for your type of cable. If you have any questions, call your local electrical inspector. I have found them to be very helpful in answering questions and explaining local codes. Always turn off the electric to any circuit you are working on.
