Hyperconjugation is an important factor in understanding molecular stability and reactivity. In Gaussian, NBO analysis can be performed by adding the "NBO" keyword to the Gaussian input file, which then generates NBO analysis results in the output file. These results provide information about hyperconjugation in the molecule, including bond order and electron density distribution, as well as information about the relative stability of different molecular orbitals.
