中国国务院副总理刘延东访问以色列瑞本医疗中心

High ranking officials from the People's Republic of China made an official visit to Rambam Health Care Campus this morning. The delegation was led by Ms. Yandong Liu, the Vice Premier of China. With her were China's Ministers of Health, Education, and Science, to name a few. Their visit was devoted to gaining a deeper understanding of trauma and emergency preparedness—a subject of great interest to the Vice Premier of the largest country in the world. During her visit, Vice Premier Liu met with the hospital 's management and representatives of Rambam's trauma unit. Professor Beyar, Director of Rambam, the group to the largest academic hospital in academic Northern Israel and briefly described the hospital's future plans. Vice Premier Liu was quite interested in what Prof. Beyar had to say, asking many questions about the running of a large Israeli hospital, and carefully taking notes. The delegation next went on a tour of the Sammy Ofer Fortified Underground Emergency Hospital, which recently opened in its peacetime configuration as an underground parking lot. Rumors of this facility—the largest of its kind in the world—had reached the ears of the Vice Premier and she was very excited to see it with her own eyes. She and the rest of the group next visited Rambam's modern fortified trauma unit, together with Haifa Mayor Yona Yahav and City Clerk , Mrs. Bracha Sela. "I will work to increase the collaboration between hospitals in China and in Israel, and with Rambam in particular," said the most influential woman in China. Vice Premier Liu invited Professor Beyar and other hospital representatives to visit China to establish collaborations between interested parties. "The combination of medicine, education, and research, with the synergy between the hospital and medical technology, along with expertise in trauma care are Rambam's strengths, and what have made us a leading medical center in Israel and the world," said Professor Beyar, explaining the importance of this visit. "All of these were of great interest to Vice Premier Liu. We are looking forward to promoting collaborations between us and China, for the benefit of all."
