40/40: Grasshopper Waltz by myself

I did it! 40 pieces in one year, already finished before October. For the 40th piece I decided to do a very special obe: an original composition of mine 🥰 (However this will not be my final recording of it, I will work on this longer to really get the expression and everything the way I want. This is the first almost glitchless recording). For the 40 pieces challenge started easy, used it to work on my sight reading, so some very easy pieces were included at first that I used to practice not looking down on the keyboard (which made them suddenly much more difficult). Around piece 20, I noticed that I was in schedule and could easily go for pieces grade 2 or even 3. I noticed 2 things: Although I am around grade 5, it takes far more time to get grade 2 pieces nice and glitchless on tape. Usually, I have 90% learned quickly, but 10% struggle in each of them! Also, of course, I want to have them at proper speed, which really takes time. Those difficult spots take time. By time, I don't mean practice time, but days to settle. 10 minutes or 30 minutes a day probably wouldn't be different, in both cases it takes X days until it works. Having noticed this I started to work on several pieces simultaneously. So instead of 1 piece/1week it was 3 pieces/3 weeks. Which was the same pace, but much better quality. Also more fun. Over the challenge my sight reading has improved I practised more/longer than without I got way better in expression and interpretation I will continue the challenge and see how many pieces it will be until end of December.
