Having been beautifully maintained, this highly specified 2007 Hanse 540E represents a great example of modern yacht design that combines performance and comfort. "Katana" has been professionally maintained with extensive recent upgrades for cruising and casual racing, providing true turn-key boating for its new owners. Hanse are widely famed for their exceptional design and build quality, where specifically the 540E boasts a sleek and contemporary exterior, characterised by its stylish lines and spacious cockpit and outdoor lounges. Built with a solid fibreglass hull and an impressive high-performance sail inventory, this yacht ensures excellent handling and stability. Having recently completed the 2024 Hamilton Island and Magnetic Island Race Weeks, "Katana" has benefited hugely from its current owners with an impressive inventory of sails, spectra halyards and sheets, a BRAND NEW Furler Boom, UPDATED rigging, NEW appliances, NEW Spectra water maker, NEW B&G navigation equipment throughout, air-conditioning and heating, washing machine, hydraulic transom garage door and NEW bow sprit, amongst much more. This Hanse 540E's cockpit is fitted with port and starboard stern lounges that sit behind the twin helm steering wheels. The twin helm stations are well equipped with NEW B&G instruments and good helm chairs with in-built storage. Large additional storage can be found in the garage, accessible via a large hatch just behind the helm stations, plus access from a hydraulically folding aft transom door to give immediate access to the garage and swim platform. Forward of the helm sits a centre table with a new B&G plotter and fold-out varnished teak tops, flanked by spacious lounge seating for a total of 6 comfortably to each side, housed by refreshed bimini covers and clears, atop which sit two 360-watt solar panels. The cockpit lays home to an array of Spectra halyards and sheets which can be controlled using the 2 Lewmar 54 ST electric primary winches and 2 Lewmar 44 ST electric secondary/ mooring winches, held by Spinlock XT Jammers. Moving past the cockpit and down into the saloon, you are greeted by a large open floorplan that features plenty of seating for guests with a deep dining table sitting to the port side. A well-equipped permanent nav station sits to port, while opposite to the starboard side is a well-laid-out and equipped galley that features great refrigerated storage. Forward of the saloon and in the bow you'll find the master cabin with a double berth sitting central, plus a private ensuite head with shower. Aft of the saloon and behind the main access staircase, both sides are flanked by additional cabins. The port side cabin features twin single accommodations with a private ensuite and shower, while the starboard side cabin sports a large double bed, also with a private ensuite and shower. Both guest cabins are spacious with generous floor space and good ventilation. Wide teak-laid decks provide simple manoeuvrability fore and aft on deck, enclosed with high stainless-steel stanchions and wire railing, featuring midships fold-down ladders on both sides for side-to access. All lines run through mirrored enclosed channels on the teak-laid cabin top. All rigging has been recently refreshed, with particular note to a BRAND NEW Furler Boom ($90,000), allowing for the full-length battened mainsails to retain better performance and shape. The foredeck lays home to a self-tacking Jib track and a large sail locker below deck. On the bow, you will find a manually furling Jib, plus a custom bow sprit to retain the full function of the retracting anchor. The sail inventory is comprehensive, with an additional set of full racing sails, while the great-condition cruising sails are pictured. "Katana" has visibly and practically benefited greatly from its current owners, where no expense has been spared with professional regular upkeep and performance additions to make this high-volume cruiser an easily operated race-ready vessel.
