Steel Slag Road Technology is developed by CSIR-CRRI, India to facilitate large scale utilization of processed steel slag aggregates in asphalt and cement concrete road construction. Customized steel slag valorization process was developed by CSIR-CRRI to convert different types of steel slag such as BOF, EAF and COANRC Steel slag as processed steel slag aggregates for Steel Slag Road Construction. India has become the world's first country who has utilized processed steel slag aggregates as 100 % substitute of natural aggregates in asphalt and cement concrete steel slag road construction, India's first 100 % steel slag road was built in April 2022 using 100 thousand tons of processed EAF steel slag aggregates in all layers of asphalt roads. Since than multiple steel slag roads are built across India using Steel Slag Road Technology.
