For the international viewers: In this video I'm repairing a small portion of my E61 boot wiring. It's a very common problem in these BMW station wagon models. While this is not a video of repairing all of the wires, the procedure is exactly the same. If you have multiple electrical problems and you find several broken or stripped wires, I would advice to fix all of them on both sides of the boot. A good way of doing this is to cut away some length of the old wire and solder new flexible silicon wire between the old one. I'm not a certified mechanic, just a fake engineer, so don't repeat anything I do, if you don't know what you're doing.
