Sitar maestro Pandit Uma Shankar Mishra needs no introduction to the Indian Classical Music world. Dedicated his entire life to music for the past 65 years. Born in 1931 in Madhubani, Bihar in a family of devoted musicians who preserved the rich heritage of traditional Indian Classical Music for the last six generations. He was initiated into the complex and demanding art form by his eminent father Late Pandit Hari Prasad Mishra.he was intensively trained in the rigid grammar of music by his father. Later on he learnt and practiced under sitar maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar. His demeanor, actions and deeds are all a class apart, away from the glittery & materialistic pleasures. The is video clipping taken from library and he played in honor of a great Spiritual Master Sri Chinmoy.This recording was a live concert's recording. There are some outer noise disturbances in the recording as this concert happened in open air.
