This solo break happens in the middle of the song "Suicide Solution". I loved listening to this album as a teenager, and Randy's solo spot was always a highlight for me. The tuning on the original recording is slightly sharp of standard tuning, so you may want to take that into consideration if you want to play along. However, this video lesson is simply in standard tuning. This solo is extremely challenging with insane legato licks, large shifts, and some incredibly fast alternate picking as well. For the most part, I will break the lesson up into sections that match the pauses Randy takes in the solo, except when there is an obvious shift to a specific technique, like the tapping section.
