Automotive cybersecurity is mandatory for engineers and management. Security impacts product liability because attacks directly impact functionality, user experience and functional safety. For instance, if manipulating a system yields an accident or harm, the cybersecurity process obviously was not sufficient. This Vector webinar introduces to CSMS and systematic security engineering with ISO 21434. OEMs and suppliers must ensure an effective protection against manipulations, both vehicle IT as well as the enterprise IT and cloud services. Key points are the systematic identification of security requirements towards security functions, security validation and supply chain. Business IT and embedded product IT are converging to multi-purpose systems. The ISO 21434 standard with UNECE R.155 and R.156 on CSMS and SUMS demands mitigating security risks in product, project, and organization. Together with standards such as ASPICE and ISO 26262 it facilitates an efficient process framework. If well-done, they facilitate effective processes, as we will show here.
