My son Hunter and I enjoyed a fantastic day beach metal detecting with the Nokta Makro Simplex+ Metal Detector and Midi Hoard Kids Metal Detector. We found a boatload of old coins, and Hunter with the Midi Hoard did incredibly well on the beach. We were on Strand Beach in the Western Cape, South Africa, and we stumbled upon an area where Marc Richter rents out kids metal detectors on weekends. His venture is called: Kids Treasure Hunting, aka KTH. On the day, he zones off a small area and plants loads of coins, even rings and jewellery. He then coaches and assists the kids and gets them interested in the hobby, and of course, they just have a blast! Once we started hitting those old coins and did not stop, I put two and two together and figured that we were on Marc's detecting spot.
