Supro Dual-Tone Guitar Reissue Official Demo by Richard Fortus

A buddy of mine has a fantastic rehearsal studio and recording studio called Brewhouse Music Studios. The interesting thing about it is that it’s one of the most haunted spots in the country. It’s a massive brewery that was built in the 1860’s. The owner of the studio has loads of amazing stories and experiences the ghosts so regularly that it doesn’t really even phase him any more. There are huge caverns under the brewery. The caverns even contain a Roman swimming pool and a full nightclub that they used during prohibition. I used 2 Supro amps for these videos. One is a 1x10 Comet and the other was a vintage ’63 Thunderbolt, but wasn’t called a Thunderbolt. It has tremolo and was a guitar amp (not bass). It’s one of my favorite Supro’s. I just split the signal and I’m running through both. Man, that little Comet is RIDICULOUS!!! I love that amp. Pure swampy mojo! At times, I also engaged a Supro Drive pedal. I love these guitars. They have so much vibe to them! Super comfortable to play and they have such an incredibly unique tone. These pickups also sound AMAZING for slide! Total Cooder tone. Super throaty when you roll the tone back. I love how responsive the pickups are. I’ve got a few old Valco made guitars that I use mainly for slide. I think that’s mainly due to the fact that the old ones sound and look fantastic but are nearly impossible to play! Thankfully, these new ones keep all the tone but are a pleasure to play!
