From persistence to beautiful melodies | Noémi Győri | TEDxDanubia

Noémi Győri has been enamoured with music and the flute since being a little child. Though one would assume a straight path led to world fame, due to an unfortunate accident, the Hungarian flutist-virtuose had to experience the greatest depths and persist against all odds in order to continue her true calling and thrive as a world-renowned musician. As she summarizes in her talk: "The fragile notes of success have been built on blocks of resilience." Listen to her story! Praised for her passionate and vibrant performance as well as creative, elaborate interpretations, Hungarian flutist Noémi Győri has quickly established a name in the international classical music scene as an exceptional and versatile artist, equally in demand as a soloist, chamber musician, orchestral flutist and pedagogue. Following her debut at Carnegie Hall in 2011, Noémi is currently pursuing her doctorate in performance at the Royal Academy of Music in London as the first flutist in the programme. She was awarded the European Cultural Prize for Young Artists, the Career Prize of the Salon de Virtuosi Foundation in New York and the Performers’ Prize of Artisjus Music Foundation in Hungary. Noémi is principal flutist of the Orchester Jakobsplatz Munich and has been a guest player in orchestras such as the BBC Philharmonic and the Vienna Philharmonic. She is Associate Tutor at the Royal Northern College of Music and leads her flute studio at the Junior Department. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
