THE SWITCHER Bend the string then flip the pickup selector to the bridge position while holding the note. The note morphs into a sharper sound. THE HALF HOOK Play a note without bending it then (with another finger) make a half step bend from 1 fret below the first one. CROSSROADS Bend a full step then slide a full step in turns. You can add an extra note on a different string to create a short repeating melody. RAKE AND BEND Sweep through several strings, without actually fretting them tightly, before reaching the string where you want to bend a note. PLANE UP, PARACHUTE DOWN Bend quickly up a minor 3rd, then release partially the bend a half step down. Pick this note then glide back down slowly. KICK THE STRING Pick the note, bend it a half step, then let the String fall back under your finger with a fast Kicking-like movement of your index finger. DOUBLE TAPPING BEND Bend the string with both hands, using the 2nd finger of the right hand. Double the note with the 3rd finger while releasing the string. TWIN BENDS Bend the string then while releasing it, slide a few frets down or up and do another bend there. Only pick the very first note. EXPONENTIAL BEND Start bending the string very slowly and then gradually increase the vertical speed. Sounds best when you mute the note at the end. THE GARY MOORE BEND Bend one string then let your finger collect the adjacent string too. After that pick these two strings together like there’s no tomorrow. THE “FM OUTTA HERE’ BEND Bend the string quickly then take away your finger and let the adjacent finger do the slow release movement a half step below. THE HANDSHAKE BEND Bend the string then touch the string with your right hand 12 frets higher. Any part of the hand (finger, palm, etc.) works as well. THE CRYING BEND Bend the string before picking it then create artificial harmonics while releasing it. Repeat this with several different harmonics. THE VALLEY BEND Bend the string and hold it, then release it and bend it again, without picking. You can release the string either fully or partially.
