On Saturday the 6th of September 2020, John Heald ran his new locomotive for only the second time. The 0-4-0 freelance Clishay locomotive uses a 'Beam Engine' design and a steel boiler, proving to be John's most unique build yet. But the work paid off, and the outcome is a stunning, hardworking, forgiving engine, making it easy for learner drivers to be educated on the running of steam locomotives. All whilst hauling three fully loaded ridecars with ease for the public. This Locomotive Mini-Documentary covers the build process, some shots from around the Tauranga Model Marine & Engineering Society track, as well as an interview with the Builder & Owner, John Heald.
