Belgian Pale Ale Recipe and Tasting - Jar of Destiny Challenge - Brew Dudes

Belgian Pale Ale is the second beer in this round of our Jar of Destiny series. Jar of Destiny, where we pick a random style every 3 months and we research and brew a recipe at the will of the jar, has delivered yet again another style we might not regularly try and brew. This beer was 83% Belgian Pale malt and 17% Caravienne malt. This beer poured a deep orange with a nice fluffy head. The aroma was ester and bread malt forward. There was very mild Belgian like clove/phenol character; which we appreciated. The flavor was more bread and a touch of hop spiciness. Hard to pull apart the hop character from the yeast character. Not a surprise as this is what you'd expect from a Belgian style ale. We both found this one drinkable and interesting to sip and tease out the flavor profiles.
