[4K] Walking the streets of MEXICO (Todos Santos, Baja California Sur, Mexico)

So this happened - we went to Mexico last February! It was my first time to visit Mexico and my first time to travel outside the US in 9 long years! I was told that this was not 'actual' Mexico because it is separated from mainland Mexico. Is it like saying Hawaii or Alaska is not really USA? lol. Anyways, so for a change, I walked the streets of Todos Santos, Baja California Sur, Mexico. I took a break from walking the streets of California, USA and Mexico was refreshing. I love Todos Santos especially its people - beautiful, warm, always smiling & hospitable. The first thing I noticed is that the streets are really clean and the locals make it a point to maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the place. The weather was wonderful. Winter is the best season to come to Baja. It's warm and comfortable in the daytime and chilly in the evening and early morning. The food at the hotel we stayed in was great but my experience at other restaurants was just so-so. Some locals said that food on the mainland is better. Todos Santos is regarded more as a quirky, artsy town than a culinary spot. One of the top things I wanted to do in Todos Santos was to have hot chocolate made from scratch but the four restaurants we've been to could only offer me Abuelita. I have nothing against Abuelita but I'd have loved to have an authentic hot cocoa. Also, I wasn't expecting Todos Santos to be as expensive as the Bay Area but it is! All in all, I enjoyed our stay. I'd definitely visit Mexico again but next time I'll go to the mainland. Muchos gracias, Mexico!
