This is part of my recreation and expansion of the original Game Boy Advance OST for DKC3 by David Wise. Inspired by Jammin' Sam Miller and his soundtrack restorations of the original SNES trilogy, I'm aiming to do a similar treatment for this version of the game, but with modern virtual instruments. I mean to expand upon the song arrangements so they build a bit more and don't just loop or fade out. Pokey Pipes was perhaps the most challenging track to reproduce thus far. I'm new to synthesis, and this was a very involved exercise in sound design. I have many, many layered sounds in this one, attempting to properly recreate the sounds that I believe Wise was going for (big drainpipe reverb). After I managed to get that sound to a place I was reasonably content with, I started hearing the Fear Factory melody sneaking in. And then I was desperate to hear that iconic Stickerbush Symphony filter synth =] I think overall, this was a success. I hope you'll think so too!
