This one is Pontiac Historical documented. VIN # matching motor and trans, factory colors. The legendary Super Duty: Early 1970s was a time where cars were heavily regulated, emissions and gas mileage were far more important than horsepower. A few engineers at Pontiac still had the need for speed. The Super Duty was built under the radar from the top brass. It may look like the standard 455, but that's all they have in common. These were special cast blocks that were hand assembled with upgraded performance parts. This is considered the last muscle car of that era. EXTERIOR: Sleek lines with scoops, spoilers and a shaker! Very clean, straight rust free body. The rubber bumpers front filler panel are in excellent shape. Repainted it's original Admiralty Blue and it is smooth and glossy. Bright blue decals are in excellent shape. Weatherstrips were replaced. New grills and headlight bezels. The windshield was replaced. It has optional rain gutter trim. Great looking set of honey comb wheels are wearing BFG tires. INTERIOR: These are sporty and comfortable interiors. This one looks great from carpet to headliner. Seat upholstery was replaced. The door panels, handles and cranks look new. The dash area is mint with machine turned bezel, rally gauges and an 8-track player. The knobs, vents, console all look great. The formula is looks new. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Original #s matching Super Duty 455 with it's original components: heads, manifolds, valve covers etc. When it was rebuilt it was upgraded with a Ultradyne cam. It has the complete shaker hood assembly with the duct work all in place. It's painted and detailed real well. Complete: overflow bottle, shroud, squirters are hooked up. It has power steering and brakes. TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It has a working power trunk release. Under the trunk lid and jamb are painted slick. Weatherstrip and decals were replaced. Inside is clean metal with a nice spatter finish. It still has the original collapsible spare with air bottle and the jack is still stowed in the proper location. Some extras include the original radio and bezel, a car cover and the original # match SD carb (rare). UNDERSIDE: It appears to be rock solid original metal The underside is original and maintained as needed. It looks like the front end has been rebuilt at one time. It has the sport suspension with sway bars front and back. The shocks have been replaced. It has a correct dual exhaust system with a transverse muffler and polished tips. Disc brakes in the front and drum in the back, e-brake is hooked up. Looking up at the motor it's very fresh, it has a high torque starter. It also has it's original VIN number matching Turbo 400 automatic that looks fresh. 3.42 posi rear. SERVICE: We inspected the car and repaired the amp gauge, gave it a front end alignment and took care of a swaybar link rattle. I get the impression this has always been a cared for car, it's unabused. Certainly a solid investment, it's rare and desirable, the story behind the Super Duty has a chapter in the muscle car history!
