They prefer cool, damp, dark places like under wood piles, in basements and crawl spaces, in sewers, and around pipes. German cockroaches are the most common indoor roach and can range in size between ½” to an inch long. They are a light brown color with two distinguishing dark stripes down their backs .They typically hitch a ride into your home in bags, cardboard boxes, luggage, or furniture. These roaches are found all over the world and are linked to the spread of bacteria. German cockroaches prefer warm, dark, humid environments near food and water. When you inspect your kitchen and bathrooms for a possible infestation, be sure to search cabinets, drawers, and under/around appliances. You will be looking for adult roaches, their feces, and egg sacs. Repair any leaking plumbing and seal up all cracks and entry points, such as plumbing penetrations.
