DIY Fairy Garden House Witch Hut

Happy Halloween! In this video, I'm making a Witch Hut! This is a bit different than the usual Mushroom House that I've made in the past. This fun DIY fairy garden house tutorial features the Witch "Hazel" House sitting atop a small hill, Witch Hazel sells her specially concocted brews and potions. A frog hanging out by the door with a top hat on is a grim reminder of what happens if a customer doesn't pay the bill! :D I started with an empty plastic milk bottle. I used aluminum foil to bulk out the top of the house, and for the hill base. I covered the house and roof with DAS Paper Clay. For the hill, I used of a homemade paper clay (blended up egg carton mixed with white glue). The roof tiles are DAS Paper Clay rolled out and cut up into little squares. After letting the clay dry (and a a couple of revisions to the hill to bulk it up more), I started painting first with watercolor paints, and then used acrylics to make certain parts of the house stand out more. I then used watercolors to give the house a "stain" effect. I also mixed white glue with purple food coloring dye in order to stain the windows of the hut to a purplish tint. Unfortunately I lost the files for that segment of the process; If anyone is interested in seeing that just comment below and I'll make a separate process video for that. To add the lighting, I use a battery powered small string of LED lights to light the interior of the house. Don't use actual tea candles! This witch hut is a fun project and suitable for any Halloween home decoration or fairy garden house addition. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Music credits: "Darkest Child", "Graveyard Shift", "Monster Promenade", "Not as it Seems" Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/b...
