Here is the second of two Big Man events in high school track & field - Discus. Very tough to toss that disc. Consistency is rarely achieved. Six chances here at the Southern Section Masters to hit the at-large qualifying standard for the California State meet a week later. Only 4 guys end up getting it that far but six go on to State. Gino Cruz, second in this Masters competition, ends up winning the State title. The Masters meet was held at El Camino College in Torrance, CA on May 18, 2019. The Masters meet brings together the top athletes from all four Southern Section divisions in competition to determine qualifiers for the California state championships meet.
