Making the Numberpad Passive Keyswitch Eurorack Controller

A summary of the creation of the Numberpad Passive Keyswitch Controller. The idea and inspiration for the Klacking Keypad. I'm using this as a Eurorack controller in this video. I found an old Cherry number pad at a re-use center. I bought it because it looked cool. It sat in my studio for quite a while before the idea to turn it into a controller came to me. To convert it into a eurorack controller, I first cut the PCB board down to just the keyswitches. I then cut the traces that connected the keyswitches to an IC that was on the board. I soldered directly from the keyswitch pins to the input and output jacks. On four of the switches, I added potentiometers in the path for attenuation. From there I figured out the case. This was the step that took the longest. It all came together over time and the result was a super fun controller. The thing that makes this controller amazing is the keyswitches. I decided to research them and found that they are still being manufactured. I decided to figure out how to make a eurorack module based on this controller, but with more features. The Klacking Keypad is the result. Here is it's Eurorack module offspring: https://www.modulargrid.net/e/north-c...
