MEGA Coral Trout - Jigging the Great Barrier Reef

This is pretty much as good as jigging for trout gets, Part 2 of our GBR trip, fishing again with Ron From Compleat Angler Cairns and Brendo the meterey slayer. Jigs were lost, sharks were hungry and fish were caught!! Ron shows us where the fish live in his bloody super yacht, Brendo see's the value of a heavy jig combo after getting roasted (alot) but gets a proper lord trout on a Pe4 Oceans Legacy Slow Element, and I got unlucky twice with fish high on my bucket list - Iron jaw and a metre plus blue spot trout. I started off fishing my Pe3 Slow Element with Pe3 Siglon ADV (35lb) and got some good fish using 80g and 120g Nomad Buffalo Jigs rigged with BKK Sea Rangers. However there were some proper big fish mixed in that blew me away on that so I opted for the Pe 5 Elementus with Pe5 Siglon (80lb) to give myself a chance at a trophy most of the time. We fished depths mostly between 30m to 70m and was using Nomad Buffalo Jigs in 180g and 230g rigged with BKK 4/0 Lentus assists, first time really pushing these assists and fishing 80lb braid - 130lb leader hard, I didn't manage to even bend one, very impressed!!
