Deep Backhand Three-Quarter Length Shot in Squash - Using The Open Stance

🚀 Book Your FREE Audit Below 🛠 https://go.sportmind.io/Online-Squash... ⚫️💨 Grab Your Squash Playbook - https://www.squashplaybook.com/ Today, I'm delving into the challenging but crucial aspect of squash: the deep backhand three-quarter length shot. This area of the court is often tricky, but mastering it can significantly elevate your game. 👟 Efficient Footwork: I emphasize the importance of using the left leg in an open stance for this shot. It's more efficient, though it does trade off some power. 🏃‍♂️ Movement and Positioning: Observe how the left leg being closer to the ball in this court area makes for easier access compared to pulling the right leg around. 🔄 Racket Readiness: I guide my student to keep the racket in an optimal position early, ensuring it’s always ready as we move towards the ball. 🎯 Balance and Control: Notice the difference in balance between me and my student. I focus on keeping my shoulders, chest, and core horizontal to maintain stability. 💪 Racket Grip and Wrist Control: The 'wobbly wrist' issue is common. I advise practicing with slow balls and focusing on keeping the knuckles pointed upwards to achieve the right angle. 🌪 Shoulder Positioning: An important aspect is pulling the shoulder under the chin, a detail that can make a big difference in the shot's effectiveness. 🏌️‍♂️ Follow-Through and Landing: Both my student and I work on our follow-throughs. The goal is to throw the ball off the strings, sending it long and keeping it consistent. 👀 Maintaining Focus: A crucial tip is to avoid turning towards the front wall too early. Staying focused on the shot for a longer duration aids in achieving straighter, more consistent hits. 🔀 Cross-Step Efficiency: I demonstrate the cross-step movement pattern. It's an efficient way to cover distance and stabilize the lunge during the shot. So, these are some of the key aspects we worked on for the deep backhand three-quarter length shot. I hope these tips help you improve this challenging but rewarding part of your squash game. Please share and subscribe if you found this video helpful.
