#med (Music.Every.Day) Day 324 of my daily video posting project. I have been working on this project since November 2023--learning and posting a video of new piano music every day! Back to Disney today: "If I Didn't Have You" from Monster's Inc. This is an Oscar-winning piece by Randy Newman. This jazz arrangement is found in the Hal Leonard collection: Jazz Piano Solos: Disney Favorites. Monsters, Inc. was a really cute Pixar film, featuring two really funny actors: John Goodman and Billy Crystal. They sing this song in the end credits of the movie. This version is a moderately slow swing version and has a nice lilt to it. It also has some nice harmonic lines that complement the melody really well. Tune in tomorrow for more of my #music.every.day experiment!
