They are psychic nulls, soulless humans that are anathema to the forces of chaos, but also potent anti-psychers. They work extensively with the Adepteus Custodes in a force known in the Galaxy as the Talons of the Emperor. They run the black ships, bringing the 1000 psychers a day to Terra from across the Imperium of Man to be sacrificed to the Emperor of Mankind, keeping him alive and maintaining the Astronomicon.
