Today we go for a walk on the Promenade in Puerto de la Cruz, a city situated in the north of Tenerife. One of the most popular travel destinations in the Canary Islands. The destination for the very first tourists who made it to Tenerife was Puerto de la Cruz. And to this day it hasn't lost its original fishing village feel. Even though hundreds of thousands of people visit it every year. It is such a pleasure sitting in Plaza del Charco,, or watching the waves of the Atlantic Ocean breaking on the shore in Costa de San Telmo, with the amazing lagoons of Lago Martiánez in the background. And when you want a refreshing treat, a delicious ice cream from one of the many parlors around the paseo maritimo is just the thing. Join me on this walk around Puerto de la Cruz. We start on Playa de Martianez, where you can sit all day long, watching the surfers trying to catch the perfect wave. It is so relaxing. Then we start walking on Avenida de Cristobal Colon, the main avenue along the shore, full of restaurants, shops, and hotels. We walk all the way to Playa San Telmo, and then we head back, ending our walk back where we started. I really hope you'll this Tenerife walkabout!
