MAKING CEBU'S FAMOUS BIBINGKA AND PUSO 🇵🇭 Hanging Rice

Who knew we'd go from eating to actually MAKING CEBU'S FAMOUS BIBINGKA AND PUSO 🇵🇭 all while in the Philippines...but here we are!! For those of you who are not aware of either, puso is commonly referred to as hanging rice so you may have actually already heard of it. It's an absolute street food staple all over the island of Cebu and easily recognized due to it's heart like shape and...well, it's always hanging in batches!! It's rice wrapped and boiled in a casing made out of coconut leaves in which you will see at almost every street food vendor on the island. It's easy to eat, easy to hold, and goes with everything! Bibingka on the other hand is not limited only to Cebu however Cebu does in fact have their own varieties and each maker is known to process their bibingkas differently. However, this particular stand was home to Jose's favorite bibingka's we've had yet in the Philippines! We were honored to be not only shown the process in making both of these popular Filipino dishes but actually invited to be hands on in the entire process and boy was it fun!!
